Update

On March 27, 2009

I thought I would give you all a quick update while I remember that I actually have a blog. Yes, you heard me right, I do forget I own a blog!

Life is changing for me: Among other things, I graduated from highschool last February, and the party is scheduled for April 11th. I just got hired at Horizon Air as a Customer Services Agent last week (March 19th). They flew me to Seattle, Washington, for a second interview, drug testing and fingerprinting. I’m going to Seattle on April 6th for a test, then fly to Portland, Oregon, for four days of training, fly back home on Friday night (April 10th), have my graduation party on Saturday, then celebrate Christ raising from the dead on Sunday, and first day of work in Billings on Monday!

I can definitely see God working in my life. I seek and want to do His will.

In Christ our risen Lord,
–Joe

Why do I serve Jesus Christ?

On January 28, 2009

Have you ever thought much about why you follow Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High God? Does your answer hold any water? What if your witnessing to somebody and they ask you why you believe in Jesus Christ and not Buddha or Muhammad? I’m challenging you to think about it, write it down, back it up with scripture, and share it.

Walk in His steps,
–Joe

November Summery

On November 29, 2008

Yes, I know it’s been over a month since I’ve last updated you all. It hasn’t slowed down since we went hunting. We got three deer hunting and overall had a grand time. After we got home we processed the deer as well as a friends two goats, in trade for a pizza dinner. The next night we found out my Grandfather was dieing and Mom and I quickly packed and made the trip to Oregon the following morning. We spent two weeks with Grandpa and close family, then he died. We spent the next week Dad, Anne, Ben and Elle came out and we spent time with family and went to Grandpa’s memorial service that Friday. Over all Mom and I spent 2 weeks 5 days in Oregon. It’s the longest period we’ve been away from our family for.
We came home and celebrated Eric’s 17th birthday with eggrolls for dinner. We’ve spent last week catching up, and getting back in to the groove. Friday we went to the ranch Eric and I work at and Eric and I each killed a doe. Today we celebrated Thanksgiving since Dad had to work on Thanksgiving day.

That’s the month in a nutshell, here’s the pictures to prove it:

Bear Mountain, which is properly named since Emily saw a huge Grizzly bear.

Some of the hunting crew about to go out for the evening hunt.

Washing the deer after it was skinned. Yes, it is hanging off our basketball hoop.

Few of the girls taking the meat off the bones and separating the meat from the gross jelly.

Mt. Hood in Oregon

Mt. Saint Helens, which is in Washington but I was in Portland when I took this.

My lunch when we were at the hospital with Grandpa

Outside his hospital window

Mom and Aunt Laurie (Mom’s older sister) at the hospice doing a puzzle with Grandpa in the background

Eating dinner at Grandpa and Grandma Kathy’s house. (L to R) Mom, John (one of Mom’s brothers), Grandma Kathy (Mom’s step mom), Aunt Laurie and my empty seat.

Sorting through pictures for Grandpa’s memorial.

Dad and Anne the day them, Ben, and Elle came.

At Grandma and Papa’s (Dad’s parents), we’re just about to devour a roast beef dinner

After Grandpa’s memorial, the close family went to Grandma Kathy’s. Here I am showing off my plate of good food.

Aunt Jo and Anne. Aunt Jo is as nice as she looks!

Same with Grandpa Peterson! This is the first time we’ve met Grandma Kathy’s dad. He’s a very nice and very Godly man. He’s very proud of his new 12 great grandchildren and we’re very proud to call him Grandpa!
