Heavy luggage

On May 31, 2007

We have entertained a lot of friends from out of state, and naturally so carried luggage. One thing we (Ben, Eric and I) found out was the bags belonging to the females were quite a bit heavier then the male’s bags. What in the world do they carry in there? 50 pound weights? Whatever it is, it certainly gives us a workout.

Okay, let me think about this out loud:

1 Guy’s bag:
1 extra pair of clothes
1 Hair brush
1 Razor
1 cologne

4 Girl’s bags:
6 dresses
6 shirts (remember, they have to change 3 times a day)
1 ball gown (just in case, right?)
2 hair brushes (they have two hands, right?)
6 necklaces and earrings to match (to match each outfit)
6 pairs of socks (again, to match each outfit)
8 pairs of shoes (who knows when you’ll go hiking, swimming, running, jogging, walking, dancing, and skiing. The last pair is to wear around the house)
2 thingies of mascara
2 bottles of lipstick (need a duplicate, just in case a little sibling eats your other one)
1 bottle of shampoo
1 bottle of conditioner
20 hair thingies
3 different kinds of perfume

Oh I got it. They don’t need 50 pound weights to make it heavy. I’m sure I’m missing a bunch more items that goes in the females list, but that was just a generalization. Now guys, I’m sure you can relate to myself. Ladies… there’s no hope… you’ll forever pack four bags each and pack ‘em tight!

The Man, The Woman

Okay, was it really supposed to post this time?

What you wrote for 1 guy’s bag:
1 extra pair of clothes (by the way, is this based on one nights’s stay?)
1 Hair brush
1 Razor
1 cologne

What guys really need for a trip: (this includes the items you wrote as well)

1 extra pair of clothes
1 Hair brush
1 Razor
1 cologne
1 Bible
1 book (incase you get bored)
1 camera
1 tooth brush
1 thingy of floss
1 pair of extra shoes.(if you are wearing shoes, then you should bring sandles incase, and vice versa)

I know that I probably am missing things, but I cannot think of anymore at the moment. One thing that I think can make girl’s bags heavier is that they have more things to bring. (for a few examples: earings, make-up, hair ties, etc)

What you wrote for 4 girl’s bags:

6 dresses
6 shirts (remember, they have to change 3 times a day)
1 ball gown (just in case, right?)
2 hair brushes (they have two hands, right?)

1 bottle of shampoo
1 bottle of conditioner
20 hair thingies
3 different kinds of perfume

What a girl really needs for a trip, or atleast what I take on a trip(which, btw, I only use one bag. :P )

1 extra change of clothes (this includes shirts and skirts/pants/shorts)
1 hair brush
2-3 pairs of earings (I do not even worry about bringing necklaces)
1-2 pairs of socks (that is, if you are not wearing flip-flops instead)
1 pair of extra shoes.(if you are wearing shoes, then you should bring sandles incase, and vice versa)
1 pallete of eyeshadow, and one tube of mascara (I do not wear make up yet, but I cannot see what good a tube of mascara is, if you do not had eyeshadow to enhance them :D )
my lipstick is in my purse, so I do not need to write that down
toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner (I do not even use conditioner, btw) are in my parent’s bag
3-4 different colored hair ties
1 bottle of perfume
1 thing of floss
1 tooth brush
1 Bible
1 book

K, I am finished now. LOL

Oh, that’s good, especially the part about siblings eating lipstick, and the ball gown “just in case”!

Joe, how untrue on the “girls” part! When we go to Oregon, Tess, Abby, Em, Kate, and I all share ONE bag. What I pack is (This is for 1 week stay):
1 pair of pants
1 extra skirt (I wear another skirt in the van)
1 extra scrunchie (I wear another one in the van)
1 brush (It is rather hard to brush with 2 brushes..)
2 extra shirts (I wear another one in the van)
1 conditioner
1 soap
1 toothbrush
My bible (I don’t usually put it in my bag, though)
Sometimes a book, we are usually too busy to read very much (I don’t put it in my bag, though..)
2 pairs of socks (I wear another pair in the van)
1 hat (sometimes)

I only have one pair of shoes, so I can’t pack another..
LOL So there! :D We females don’t pack as much as you think…

Britta, I was saying all that would be in the bags. Guys only bring one pair of shoes; the ones they are wearing. Some guys (I know) wouldn’t bring floss, tooth brush, camera, and an extra book.

Now I wasn’t saying everyone brought all that stuff, I was just keeping it general. None the less, female bags are 50% more heavier then male bags.

Time to write another post, although I do like long comments…

No kidding :D would be awful boring, I think!
I tend to overpack; I like to be prepared, you know! And I don’t share a bag, I just gotta fit all I want to in the bags I have!
